These pieces were selected from a series of sketchbooks developed in response to travels in France, Portugal, Italy and Venezuela over a four year period. Utilizing a direct positive Polaroid collage technique as a base layer, I incorporated objects found on or near the site. These and other items were sewn on with cotton thread and the images were sealed with beeswax. The sketches evolved organically as chance, intuition and reflection helped map the interconnected nature of the subjects.
